The national movement: forward to freedom

Title
The national movement: forward to freedom
Description
The pamphlet 'Forward to Freedom' illustrates the conflicts between and within political parties created by different ideas about post-independence government. Richard Hart was a founding member of Jamaica's People’s National Party (PNP). He was one of four members expelled from the PNP in 1952 for their alleged "communist" views. In 1953, Hart joined the People’s Freedom Movement, which later became the Socialist Party of Jamaica.
