The Vindolanda Charitable Trust is an independent charity based in Northumberland, UK. It administers two major Roman sites within the Hadrian’s Wall World Heritage area: Vindolanda Roman Fort & Museum near Bardon Mill, and the Roman Army Museum & Magna Fort near Greenhead. It was founded in 1970 to oversee excavation, conservation, and public engagement of these sites. Excavation has been ongoing at Vindolanda for 55 years and current excavations are taking place at Magna fort as well. New work to collate and explore the Vindolanda Archives started in 2024 and is part of the Trusts wider research programme into the materials it holds in its collection.
