This edition of John Jacob Thomas' 'Froudacity' was published by New Beacon Books, the UK's first Caribbean publishing house, bookshop and international book service. C.L.R. James' foreward asserts the importance of Thomas' work as part of the Trinidadian intellectual tradition. 'Froudacity' was first published in 1889 as a critique of Anthony Froude's 'The English in the West Indies, or The Bow of Ulysses' (1888).
