How to vote on December 15
-
Description
-
The guide on how to vote in 1980 masks a rigged election upholding one-party rule under Guyana’s People’s National Party (PNP). After independence in 1966, the PNP under the leadership of Forbes Burnham brought Guyana's electoral system under increasingly tight control, ending free elections to ensure its majority. The next democratic elections were not held until 1992.
